WHAT IS PAS 125?   Publicly Available Specifications (PAS) 125:2007 The PAS 125 Standard was developed jointly by Thatcham and BSi to improve the quality of vehicle repairs and sets minimum standards for competent personnel, equipment, repair methods, quality of materials and internal checks and controls. Accreditation can be sought on three levels, i.e. from minor cosmetic damage to major structural repairs involving complex materials and techniques. The PAS 125 Kitemark Accreditation While a number of other standards relate to Vehicle Body Repair, many of these address the consumer concerns and not necessarily the technical aspects of doing the repair work. Repair is no longer a simple task, it is a whole process from dealing with the accident itself, providing a collection service, issuing a replacement vehicle, carrying out the repair and delivering the repaired vehicle at the agreed time. PAS 125 is the industry agreed technical specification for the process of vehicle body repair. it provides Bodyshops with the process and procedures directly related to the safe repair of accident damaged vehicles. It details the minimum requirements for competent personnel, appropriate and well maintained equipment, suitable and quality repair methods and focuses these across the four main elements of repair - methods, people, equipment and materials, as well as the repair process and its on-going management.
